 ace in a 2-weekend festival celebrating this iconic work from the 1910s. L

 iver\, Illinois!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpoon River Characters—directed and cura
 ted by Iris Lieberman\, eight leading lights of Chicago theatre spin a tal
 e of characters from honest\, hardworking\, chaste\, and churchgoing to co
 rrupt bankers\, abusive husbands\, unfulfilled wives\, sexual deviants\, a
 nd failed dreamers... brought by from the dead byJerry Bailey\, Mary Bonne
 tt\,&nbsp\;Sharon Carlson\, John Green&nbsp\;(and his guitar)\, Gary Houst
 on\,\, Adjora&nbsp\;Stephens and Joanie Winter.\n\n\n\nSpoon River Classic
 al—song settings by composer Lita Grier and art songs from the period\, 
 curated by Carl Ratner\, with pianist and music director Dana Brown\, sopr
 anos Michelle Areyzaga and Marissa Howard\, baritone Carl Ratner\, and ten
 or Seth Johnson with narrator Paul Geiger as Edgar Lee Masters.\n\n\n\nSpo
 on River Cabaret—Jonathan Lewis brings together the songs and the cast o
 f Ruth Fuerst\, Claudia Hommel\, Daniel Johnson\, Jace McCloy\, Barbara Sm
 ith\, David Stephens\, and Joanie Winter\, with music director Howie Pfeif
 er to share what the Spoon River folk would have sung had they lived long 
 enough!\n\n\n\nCHARACTERS — Fridays\, September 13 and 20 CLASSICAL — 
 Saturdays\, September 14 and 21 CABARET — Sundays\, September 15 and 22 
 \n\n\n\nAll shows begin at 7 PM and are followed by artist talk-back and r
