What was at stake?
In February 2019, Inlet Beach Capital Investments (IBCI), the owner of Lot 173-3 cut a 300-foot long gash across the Kidd family property to build himself a private drive. The developer says he's entitled to use an old county right-of-way on other people's land to enhance the value of his own lot!
At the August 27 hearing, the County Commissioners recognized that the Kidd Family has a lot of support as registered by the number of emails received. And registered their disapproval of the illegal cut made by IBCI.
The best remedy to stop unwarranted incursions would be for the County to abandon this right-of-way, that is, to restore full use of the land to the rightful owners. On September 24, they chose not to do so, but we will remain vigilant in protecting our property from further abuse.
