Barbier speaks to us of her experience as private secretary to Josephine, the great African-American performer beloved in France since 1925.
Michele Barbier had the extraordinary opportunity to be Baker’s private secretary from 1968-1971. She later returned to lead a circus, release three song albums, publish novels, historical essays, plays and poems, and produce several one-woman-shows.
Barbier joins us directly from Paris while participating in the 6th international exchange of Chicago Paris Cabaret Connexion.
