Join French-Cameroonian vocalist and songwriter Suzie Telep for “Afropean Travel”, a musical journey blending jazz, soul, French chanson, and Afro-diasporic rhythms.
Through original compositions and a reimagined repertoire of standards and traditional African songs, Suzie explores themes of identity, migration, belonging, and connection, drawing from her life experiences between Cameroon, France, and the United States. Singing in French, English, Basaa, Creole, and more, she creates a vibrant soundscape where storytelling, improvisation, and cultural memory meet.
A former presence on the Paris jazz scene at venues including 38 Riv’ and Péniche Marcounet, Suzie now brings her cross-cultural artistry to Chicago audiences. She is currently preparing her debut EP, “Afropean Travel”.
